Therapy offers unique opportunities to learn about ourselves and our interaction with others, to develop personal power to act rather than react.

The more we learn about our unconscious motivations, the better equipped we are to deal with our emotional and behavioral predicaments.

In my late teens and early adulthood, I became an adventurous globetrotter out of curiosity for what was out there to be discovered, who I might meet, and what situations I’d come across.

I soon discovered that no matter where I went, who I met or what I found … there I was, as in Bob Marley song Roots, “I and I”.

I realized that to be able to enter into community with nature and other people that I desired so much, I had to first explore my own fears and motivations.

And I started to recognize the teachers that crossed my path to help.

They came and still come in many different forms, if I am attuned enough to perceive them.
